Dog Days of Summer: A Celebration of Canine Companions
“Dog Days of Summer” is Homeward Bound Waggin’s signature annual fundraiser, typically held in July at the Quincy Town Center. This year, it will be held on Saturday, July 19th. This family-friendly event features a variety of activities for dogs and their owners, including:
• Races: Dachshund Derbies, Puppy Rookie Races, Senior Sprints, and Small Breed Mixed Breed Races.
• Contests: Peanut Butter Licking Contest, Musical Sit, and Pool Diving.
• Competitions: Categories like Best Kisser, Best Wiggle Butt, and Best Owner/Pet Look Alike, culminating in the “Quincy’s Best Rescue Dog” competition.
• Vendors and Activities: There will be merchandise booths, silent auctions, raffles, and the introduction of Gameness—Responsibility—Control (GRC) DogSports.
This event raises funds and fosters community engagement and awareness about animal rescue efforts.
