The District is a community-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering growth, preserving history, and ensuring the economic vitality of downtown Quincy, Illinois. Through strong partnerships and daily revitalization efforts, The District creates a thriving and dynamic atmosphere in the Heart of Quincy. Spanning Front Street to 12th Street and State Street to Broadway Street, The District serves as Quincy’s premier destination for dining, entertainment, and shopping. Blending historic charm with modern convenience, it offers a unique experience that honors the past while embracing the future.

As part of its fundraising efforts, The District hosts events like Feast in the Heart of Quincy—a five-course meal served downtown, featuring multiple local restaurants collaborating to create a memorable experience.

I had the pleasure of attending this event in 2024, and it was truly wonderful. The atmosphere was lively, the food was incredible, and the entire evening felt like a celebration of Quincy’s culinary talent. It took place on Maine Street, in front of Maine Course, on September 25, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Featured Chefs from Feast in the Heart of

Quincy (2024):

Chef Kevin Minnick – Maine Course

Chef Jeremy Platt – Platt Daddy BBQ

Chef Jared Tipton – 8te Open

Chef Cory Shupe – Thyme Square

The meal was outstanding, the atmosphere was awesome, and the service was so sweet, with students from JWCC assisting throughout the evening. Tickets were priced at $100 per person or $200 per couple.

For 2025, The District is introducing a Progressive Dinner, offering a fresh take on its community dining event. Instead of dining in a single location, attendees will embark on a food tour, enjoying each course at a different venue.

The Progressive Dinner was last held in 2019, and its return is highly anticipated.

Tickets are priced at $50 per person.

A Culinary Journey Through Quincy

6:15 p.m. – Wine Gal Meets Whiskey Guy (119 North 4th): Indulge in heavy appetizers courtesy of Platt Daddy BBQ, while enjoying the cozy, upscale ambiance.

7:00 p.m. – One Event Venue (600 Hampshire): Savor another round of heavy appetizers, this time with Thai-inspired cuisine from Thai D’Lish.

Although the dinner setting is changed this year, I have no doubt that it will be equally as wonderful and just as fun as previous years were.  How can it not be?! You’re there in a fun new setting for each meal with your community and enjoying the conversations with each other!  If you go to this event please share with us on Facebook our email (connect@qafmagazine.com), we would love to hear from you!

Take care! – Nikki
